Join the Light Up a Life Campaign today!
October is Spina Bifida Awareness Month, and also a great time to raise awareness and money for SBAWP programs that affect you and/or your loved ones.
Here's How It Works!
To make a contribution to the Campaign:
To raise funds on behalf of the Campaign:
- Click on Register to Light Up a Life.
- You will then be prompted to register to Start a Team, Join a Team or register as an Individual Campaigner.
- When you register to "Start a Team", you are registering so that individuals can choose to be a part of your team which can have a collective fundraising goal. Each member on that team will have their own site to share with their network.
- To join a team, select the "Join a Team" option when registering and chose your team from the drop down menu.
- If you don't want to be a part of a fundraising team, you can always select the "Individual Campaigner" option when you register and start raising money on your own
Next, whether you register to Start a Team, Join a Team or become and Individual Campaigner you will need too:
- Set your personal or team fundraising goal amount.
- Write a personal message as to why you are raising funds on behalf of the SBAWP: This is a great way to raise money for a SBAWP program or service that means something special to you, or you may ask for donations to go where the need is greatest. For more information, check out the About the Campaign page.
- Upload a personal picture of yourself or your team.
- Share your site easily with all your family, friends and co-workers through email, facebook , twitter and/or a number of other social networking sites via the "Add Share" software shown on your page.
- Monitor and/or update your site daily by visiting the Light Up a Life Home Page and selecting "Campaigner Login."
- Watch the donations pour in from your generous contributors and see your fundraising bar change in real-time.
- Feel great about helping out a good cause!

If I hadn't found the SBAWP there is no way I would be where I am today. I would still be living with my parents, I wouldn't have a job, I wouldn't have a boyfriend or have made so many friends over the years and I certainly wouldn't be trying to walk again. Thank you for lighting up my life!
